Fished the river in the early hours of Monday morning and had great sport with 5 dollaghan up to 3lb as well as some lovely river trout. Only fished for a couple of hours but well worth it as I also had the pleasure of having a face to face meeting with my good friend Mr Otter on the Broken Weir Pool and to cap my night off had another otter follow me along the bank of the School Pool. Some people say I'm not right in the head for going fishing late at night but that's because they don't understand the finer things in life and that to catch a fish is a bonus and there's more to fishing than catching fish.

sounds like a great night Davy, well done . I think its a magical time to be out at night with the fish coming on and meeting with other river residents. I met Mr Otter in the same pool when I had my 'good night' .... we are obviously not the only ones have some good fishing ;D

It sure is a magical time to be out on the river that's for sure Easky. The river seems to have a lot of otter's this year compared to the last few years but it sure is good to see them. It also shows that all the unseen hard work by the club is working and with time it can only get better for us all.

I wonder why some people would think that a person who trys to talk to otters is not right in the head Davy lol. Then again, the Mink and the Otter are related are they not?
