ended up with just 9, couldnt get a thing towards the end lol. Biggest was 2 at about 4lb. Ended up with a similar number myself, biggest about 3.5 -4lb. October was a wash out unfortunately which was a pity because Davy and myself both saw what looked and sounded like big fish showing on the last day of the season. God willing, I wil see every body again nest season.

I wonder why some people would think that a person who trys to talk to otters is not right in the head Davy lol. Then again, the Mink and the Otter are related are they not?

Cheers Andy, have had a lean time since lol, I think the river needs to settle back down again after a steady flow of water this past four days.
Lovely Fish Dee, like a sea trout, looks clean as a whistle.

This one makes up for the one I lost the night before. In and around the 4lb mark, the one I lost I think felt bigger. Attachments:

Just after you left last night Easky I tightened into what felt like a nice fish. Felt like it had a bit of power in it. It ended up swimming right over to the lip of the weir and I was just trying to hold onto it when the hook came out. Wasnt one of the monsters, but certainly felt stronger than the Dollies I have hooked. A few of the boys I was speaking to said it might have been a salmon, never know now lol. Ah well, God willing there will be others.

A good guide starting off is very important, I got lumbered with Davy Telford at the start so I know how you feel All joking aside I only started myself at the back end of last season and I remember hitting almost every tree down the first stretch Davy put me on lol. By seasons end I ended up with a few Dollies and a wee salmon, mainly due to the advice I recieved from Davy and Stevie Munn, you cant beat experience. Keep at it mate, its a buzz when you get one.

Stevie Munn said that the fish he got two days ago had net marks on it. The river is that busy when the fish are in I would think that its happening on the Lough Tommy.

Stevie Munn got a nice silver fish about 4.5 lb last night and Tommy got one about the 3 lb mark, nice to see them about even when they arent showing, gives us learners a bit of encouragement.

Some nice flies there David. No Partridge and Orange, Telf will stop speaking to you mate. I was on the river for a few hours last week and had bit of success with a gold head Pheasant Tail.

Heres a wee sample, its smaller than it looks, the hook is roughly the size of my thumbnail. And I know you dont like long tails but its 2011 and its all about movement Dave. This style in different colours caught me a dollie and a Salmon last season so worth a chuck. Attachments:
